I love running this blog, but I’m a busy girl. Also, there are a lot of fandoms I’m not in, which means I’m missing out on lots of readers. To remedy this issue, I’ve decided to permanently open Middle Hyrule for guest post submissions.

I love this reality TV show called “The Amazing Race”! Basically, eleven teams start in the U.S. and over the course of about three weeks, race around the world, stopping in countries to complete challenges before they can go to the hotel, then the next morning they get up, catch a flight, and do it all over again. The pairs can have any relation to each other. They can be married, coworkers, sisters, brothers, best friends, parent and child – though they do all have to be an adult, or an older teenager accompanied by an adult. Plus, each team has a hashtag. Now on the off chance that every actor I name is reading this and all the pairs I set up decide to apply together, and then they all get chosen (a small chance, I know), this would be my dream celebrity cast for “The Amazing Race.” And since this is Middle Hyrule, all the actors are from fandom!!!!
Team #1: Colin Morgan and Katie McGrath
I’m not just saying that because I ship them and their characters. I think they work well together, and they certainly would be good at the more action-filled, stunt-like challenges, as they costarred in drama series “Merlin.”

Team #2: Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman
Your inner hedgehog is showing, Martin.
These two are just hilarious! Benedict is also good at “playing people with ice for blood” as our old friend Anne Marie puts it, so he could cold-shoulder other teams, a strategy which has worked in the past. I’m not in the Sherlock fandom (although I really need to join, the fanbase is so cool), but everybody knows about Ben and Martin. Plus, they’re Smaug and Bilbo. So, perfect team!

I don’t think they’d be a very athletic team. I don’t think they’d win. But I think everyone would be scared to death of them and desperate to help them out.

Jen is hilarious and she and Josh have this great connection. Plus, ever blunt Jen would probably embarrass the other teams and laugh in their faces. And, I think that all the athletic training from “Hunger Games” will be helpful to them.

They’re Ron and Hermione!!! I wish we could include Daniel Radcliffe… but… sorry Daniel. We can’t include you in this because each team is only two people. It’s a PAIR after all. So, yes. Sorry. They have chemistry, but do they have anything else? We’d have to find out.

Team #6: Daisy Ridley and Carrie Fisher
Maybe Carrie’s a little old. But she gets things done. And Daisy Ridley… she did a lot of running scenes in Episode 7, so she could win when they have those footraces to the pit stop before an elimination. I think they’d work well together.
Team #7: Sean Astin and Elijah Wood
Elijah: Oh no, H.G. is plotting stuff… I’m scared, Sean!
Okay, so, um… I think everyone knew this was coming… Yeah… But I mean they would make the best team!!!!!!! They’re total bros, and they work well together. And Sean ran a triathlon! So he’s very athletic. And Elijah is so gorgeous everyone would let them kind of rule the show. I think they’d make it far. And I’d be rooting for them because… MY GOSH THEY’RE SAM AND FRODO!!!!!!! They would win. I’m sure of it. And by the way, the other day was Sean’s birthday. I sent him a comment on Pinterest but autocorrect changed it and I looked stupid.

Now I don’t actually know anything about the Maze Runner, but my sister is in the fandom, and she says these two are bros, so whatever. And their movie is basically about people running through a maze. So they must be good at running, right? Good! Go run, boys!

Anyway, today we will be discussing girls with green hair – because I’m thinking about dyeing my hair green as soon as I’m allowed to. ^.^ Let’s talk about some girls that have green hair going for them – among many other things
Saria (The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.)
Saria’s hair is a sort of foresty-green. Like her clothes. And her headband. And her eyes. She’s almost a little TOO green… and then she’s also green in the sense that she’s only just awoken as a sage. But, I really like Saria’s hair. Although, in the game, it rings a little closer to lime green.
Setsuna/Sailor Pluto (Sailor Moon)
Now, Setsuna’s hair in some scenes looks black-green, like very dark green ink. I personally think that it’s so very gorgeous, and since I really like Setsuna, (she’s actually the only outer guardian I genuinely like – I can tolerate Haruka but I loathe Michiru and Hotaru), I wouldn’t mind her green hair in the least. I wonder if the perfect silkiness comes with it.
Yuzuki Seo (Gekkan Shojo Nozaki-Kun)
Yes, Yuzuki, yes you are.
Yuzuki Seo is from an anime that a friend recommended to me. Now, usually, I HATE starting new TV shows. They’re hard and time-consuming, and I have to keep track of a ton of deaths, plot lines, ships, bromances, etc. There are fifty million episodes and each is like a mini-movie in length and complexity. So, when people recommend shows, I usually say “NO THANK YOU!” knowing full well that I’m passing up on joining a popular fandom. But, I thought I’d give Gekkan Shojo Nozaki-Kun a chance, since she said it was appropriate for our age, cute, and pretty happy. So I tried it out. And I really like it! I can sit down when I have half and hour and watch seven Japanese high-school students flirt, draw manga, and fall in love. What could be better?
And Yuzuki is by far my favorite character. I tend to usually adore the bad girl. (Funny, because I myself am a “good girl” or a “goody-goody”, as it were.) I know her hair doesn’t look green. It’s actually brown with a greenish tint to it. Then sometimes it looks blond. Maybe I’d dye my hair this shade, so it could be more subtle.
So, yes. Those are three girls with awesome green hair. Now, I wonder how I’d look with those shades… which do you think is best? Let me know in the comments, I’ll do a tribute post to whichever girl wins!
Hello, Middle Hyrule fans! As many of you know, I am way into shipping. I know all the shipping lingo (though sometimes I question whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing.) But of course, there are some ships that are just completely NO. The worst part is, if you are a member of any fandom or shipping group, they’re bound to come up sooner or later. And often, there’s nothing you can do about it! How awful is that? No matter how often you tell people that it’s ridiculous, they keep doing it. They ship the dumbest things, like Katniss x Cinna, Thranduil x His Moose, Morgana x Arthur, Usagi x Kunzite, or worst of all… Frodo x Sam. Ick ick ick.
But I have barely even scratched the surface of these horrors! There are so many that are equally bad, if not worse, than the ones I have stated here. Plus, there are hundreds of fandoms, which means there are literally thousands of ships. And, more likely than not, half or more of them will be stupid or pointless. There is an ingenious term for these ships, called a “NOTP.” An OTP is a one true pairing, so a NOTP is a not one true pairing.
So, since I am inadequate to represent the protesters against this horrid monstrosity, I need YOU to help! Just use the following easy-to-work method I have created below to submit the worst ship ever. We’ll put these to poll and in a few weeks, I’ll announce which ship ranked as worst ever. You can leave a “Worst ship ever” comment any time between now and the twenty-first, which will give you ten days.
